5 Questions with Expert Club Winner - Evan Wood

1. First of all, congratulations on your huge accomplishment. How did you attack this long
competition and what kind of mindset do you have to have going into it?

Once I saw the championship would be 12 events in the group b cars I went to work on driving
the Lancia on my weakest locations first and my best locations last. This car class is very easy to
lose control and wanted to make sure i knew the feeling of the car very well under all conditions
being rain fog night etc. Honestly your mindset has to be selfish and aggressive

2. While we don't want you to give away your secrets, what do you look at in general/basic
terms when arriving at New locations with the car you drove?

Well keeping the cars pace fairly equal for each loop. So adjusting the setup to keep tire wear
minimal and the pace high is a tricky endeavor.

3. As the season got under way, how did you spot the talent you knew would be a threat
through the whole season?

This was alot easier to determine from the World Series qualifiers and just doing dailys, weeklys
and monthly challenges. Still by checking the club sites and analyzing the times you can also see
other drivers strengths and weaknesses.

4. What is next for an Expert Club winner like yourself? You've obviously set high standards
and have met them, do you plan to focus on defending this Dirt2.0 title?

Well staying active and competing in the Crest, AOR, and soon WERC championships will help to
maintain pace with elite drivers. I guess it depends on if the Expert championship does another
long season. If they release another 12 event championship with a car class other than fwd
theres a great chance you'll see me in the service area.

5. Anyone you'd like to thank after such an amazing run in not only Expert Club, but also
Crest, RBR Pro, and your Mazda ST Open debut season?

Honestly theres too many people to thank. I first wanna thank you Edgar for forming this
wonderful team across all forms of motorsports and simulator titles. I wanna thank Tom for
reaching out to recruit me to the rally team. I gotta thank all team members.

All of you whether you know or not helped me with the confidence and motivation to push
myself farther. I hope I can return the favor!
