guasapenin' with frito?!
Hello! Hello!!!! So, the 2016 season... Let's just begin by saying that it has been quite a hectic season for our team. Mainly for me, it has been busy due to work (real life), being in between houses, and dealing with less than stellar internet connections. However, let's also talk about the good things going on in our sim-racing world. We've had some strong performances from Giannis and Darren in the TC One championship (Touring PRO Series). Joonas is off in the Finnish woods studying the dirt and shooting things for awhile but his seat is still awaiting in the TC One Honda Civic. Congrats to Darren and Giannis for their strong showings in Division2. It has also been excellent to be able to drive in the Skip Barber rounds with Scott and Darren in the Absolute Beginner's League. In both Leagues we encounter numerous drivers and teams which are both great competition but also have been very helpful in providing input to our "young" team. I have felt proud of the guys' success and improvement as well as my own growth. I've begun scoring points on a regular basis. Also finishing most events unless I get wiped out by some unfortunate collision out of my control. In the Tony Hayes cup, we've had some great battles in the mx-5. The skip barber continues to challenge us and sadly we've had some pit stop problems and/or collisions. We definitely have picked up some pace in it though and feel confident as the championships wind down. Giannis and Darren have provided great input to setups and strategy. Scott also helps guide our iRacing side of things since he's our most experienced driver with iRacing. We hope to see you back with us for the Formula Neagle SPA round buddy! Finally we would like to talk about two important happenings. Fritosport Racing Team proudly welcomes Kev Mills to the team. We now have 6 drivers including myself. Our team is represented across RaceRoom Racing Experience, iRacing Motorsport Simulation and DiRT Rally. We welcome Kevin who also provides great input, expertise in various sims and he crafted an amazing button box for us. I am very excited to be using Kevin Mills button boxes in our rig. Kev has been practicing almost non-stop in his Skip Barber car. We've been running practices and hosted races lately and Darren plus Kevin have picked up the pace considerably in those cars. Kevin will join us on the grid in Season 9 of the ABLracing.com league. It is truly a great year, when we look at the big picture, looking past the incidents on track, we have made great gains. Thanks to all of our drivers for the part they play in this team. *Before we forget we hope to soon setup our 24" triple-screens, Obutto Revolution rig, 1080GTX founder's edition and truly get serious about this. We also have some products packed away since our move that we need to test like a brake pedal mod, sequential shift mod and a mini-E-brake handle. Of course, we are really looking forward to Kev Mills' button box. This hopefully ensures less pitlane mistakes, and faster pit stops and strategy!

Let's start off by saying GOOD MORNING TO ALL OF YOU!!!
We are excited to have found such a great group of drivers, from varied parts of the globe. We have drivers from Europe, Australia, the USA and each represent their country well. Later on we will have a blog post which details our drivers and their backgrounds. For now we just want to give these guys a BIG thanks for contributing to the team. Giannis C. in our WTCC TC One class has shown great knowledge and instinct in the TC One Honda Civic. He has provided us with great tuning tips and has proven his pace and keeps his cool under pressure. Giannis is in his second season with the Touring Pro Series WTCC TC One field. Giannis can show up and be a clear winner and/or podium finisher. Darren B. has jumped into the Touring Pro Series displaying great pace and expertise in the analyzer/telemetry software plus providing feedback along with Giannis on fuel strategy and more. Darren has also jumped into iRacing with the Absolute Beginner's League and is making great progress in the Skip Barber Formula 2000 car in the Formula Neagle Cup. He is another driver who has the ability to "show up and win"! Also, let's not forget that Darren has been instrumental in designing our first liveries for the team!!! It has been really cool to see his design for our team on the Global Sim-Racing Channel's live broadcast of the races. Scott B. has been a proven endurance driver in the McLaren Gt3 car which came in P5 in class and P10 overall in this years Rolex 24hrs of Daytona along side FRITO Sanchinelli. Scott was a force to be reckoned with as he provided our team with the perfect setup for the car, valuable testing and crew chief expertise plus great feedback for the whole race prep. Scott has also joined us in the Tony Hayes cup Global MX-5 cars and in the Formula Neagle Skip Barber open wheeler. We will be evaluating with Scott where we'd like to take our endurance program next with possible entries in the Prototype category. Joonas T. is another driver who has introduced us to the fun drifting and rally racing found in Assetto Corsa and DiRT Rally. Joonas is another quick driver to join our ranks and his rally expertise has been fundamental in helping some of us get up to speed on the rally stages. Joonas is also a driver in the TC One WTCC Touring Pro Series category who can adapt quickly to tracks/cars and find pace. He keeps cool on the stages as well to ensure consistently fast finishes. We hope to continue seeing his rise in the TC One category and also to do the same in the Virtual Rally Championship where he and FRITO Sanchinelli run in the F2 kit car class for Peugeot. Kevin M. is an excellent fabricator of electronic button boxes and consultant to our racing effort. While Kev has picked up his iRacing license, he aims to race in the Absolute Beginner's League joining us there in the Formula Neagle Cup. Kev has an impressive rig and is obvious he loves racing sims as much as we do. His expertise with dashboards/button boxes and sim-racing shows and he has also been valuable to adding to our knowledge. We look forward to running KevM button boxes in the near future as this will help our pit strategy and organization. Frito S. is a driver which is enjoying diving into various series, from Off-Road trucks, to RC cars, all the way to open wheel and tin-tops. His love for motorsports is huge and he provides info to the drivers and ensures communication between the team is consistent for the benefit of the team/drivers. He is currently improving in all areas of the sim-racing environment. He has taken on roles that would not be possible without the help of the other team members. He hosts practice sessions and while he talks too much sometimes, he ensures everyone shares data/info to benefit the team. His main goals for this action-packed season is to work on consistent finishes, to learn the various tracks we visit in the many series we commit to, and overall improve our all-around knowledge for the next seasons to come. |
