Tonight our team headed to Circuit Park Zandvoort. The GS and ST field contenders were faced with a fun flowing track. However, overtakes were going to be tough here for both classes. It was a blast pushing on Mike Taylor and finally score more points. We hoped to battle it out with Mike Key but he suffered from sticking brake calipers.

Going into the 6th of 8 rounds in the championship we begin to focus on finishing races and gathering as many points in order to secure our positions. It has been a season of ups and downs in the various leagues we run in. However, it was an amazing and awesome commitment and performance displayed by Kevin Mills today. Only two of our team drivers were able to make the trip to Nords this sunday. Ed and Kevin arrived but Ed had troubles with consistency. Slowly things began looking up but it wasn't enough as Edgar's race finished in the wall. Kevin was able to escape all of the carnage for the most part with small scrapes and bruises. Andy Bonar and Kev exchanged positions throughout the race until Andy had mechanical troubles. In the end, Kev did not crack under pressure and secured P16 after one of the toughest races of the season. Congratulations on the results Kev!!!! To many more! Thanks to all of our drivers and competitors. We look towards tomorrow where the Ricmotech series will visit Zandvoort. Then we have Rally Finland approaching in the RDRC-PC championship. Following will be the Tony Hayes Cup as well. See you all on the track and stages! *We also wanted to mention that Nordschleife was the perfect place for us to start testing our season 11 car! Thanks to Hugo for developing the livery for next season. Thanks to Darren as well for working on our logos too! We've arrived in Finland after the Skip Barber F2000 race earlier in the day. The F2 kit car class has launched as has the Group B cars. Ed FRITO Sanchinelli is piloting his F2 Peugeot 306 Maxi kit car through the early stages. They've started to loose coolant on stage 3 after a hard landing from some big jumps. Keep your eyes on this Blog as we will continue to update the teams progress in the R4, WRC 2010 and F2 classes! ***UPDATE*** - Stage 7-10 have proved to be a test of survival. We continue to patch up the radiator in hopes that the engine does not take so much damage that it quits fighting. We are looking ahead at stages 11-17. We have reached the service area after stage 10 (16,000+ meters). The crew will get to work on patching up the radiator and hopefully ensuring the engine will last into the next stages. Cross your fingers and wish us luck! More pics and video footage coming! Good luck to Miika and Ioannis in the WRC2010 and R4 classes respectively. This evening we arrived solely to survive the long and technical circuit that is COTA. We had a tough time finding enough time to practice for this event and so we came in somewhat nervous of many factors... We were able to finish and tried a gamble with our pit strategy which in some ways paid off but really was not enough as we hoped for more. Congrats to Mike Key on the new 27" screens! Good job to Mike Taylor who challenged me and I fell into the trap. hehehe. We look forward to the final rounds in the various series we are involved in. Thanks to all of our drivers and competitors! The 20min and 30min sprint races at Okayama circuit were full of excitement and carnage. Take a look at the TV replays here! Congrats to Ioannis Christodoulou for scoring his first points in the THC/ABLRacing.com series. Next weekend we will be at the Nordschleife with the Formula Neagle Cup driving the Skip Barber F2000 cars. However, join us today at COTA as we take on the Multiclass GS and ST fields in the xtrememotorsports99/Ricmotech Sports Car series in the MX-5! The iFlag is here! Big shout out to Ilovesimracing.co.uk and Kev Mills for this fine piece of simracing fun.
Before it was somewhat difficult to see the z1 flash blue flags and cautions. Now with the iFlag from Kev it is much easier to see when a multi-class leader and/or competitor is coming by. It also will be nice to see that white flag and generally be more aware of what is going on in the track. Make sure you go to the Ilovesimracing.co.uk website and check em out for your custom button box needs, iFlag and excellent prices/product/support. A 70min two pit-stop excitement filled race was upon us challenging our team today. Ioannis Christodoulou, Kev Mills and Ed FRITO Sanchinelli all finished the grueling race in the Skip Barber f2000 cars. Look below at the pictures and the broadcast to see how we dealt with the challenges of today's race! To give you an update, Miika has run into some troubles in stage 11. Giannis may still be running. Frito reached the finish after a grueling 12 stages and quite a few overheat scares. After stage 4 we had a rocky couple of stages in the F2 kit car. Then we focused and drove safe to finish a rally this season and not DNF. Will update on the 2010 and R4 classes. Today we stepped into the GT1 Corvette as part of our testing schedule planned over the next couple of weeks. Hugo will be testing the Ford GT2 later in the week. The HPD we will test on Saturday. After we decide on car classes and drivers we will begin team practice. Here we have some on-board and TV replay of Ed FRITO Sanchinelli in the F2 kit car class. Miika has been pushing hard in the 2010's WRC class. Giannis will be starting his home rally soon in the R4 class. Updates to come! This was an event we did not have much time to test/practice for. Again we came here and with the weather we were unsure of what PSI to run in the tires. We felt Ok most of the way around the track. However, the Porsche curves made the MX5 feel unstable. We were off to a good start and avoided incidents around us. It was all on our own in 5th gear that we had the rear step out and start dancing... After all was said and done, P13 in the ST class. Will update the Division standings soon.... Miika is one of very committed and blinding fast Rally drivers here at Fritosport. Look for more of his testing and setup work at youtube.com/fritosport
Darren Boulton took his beast of a GT-R and unleashed it upon the GT3 field at Brands Hatch! While charging up the field in the top ten some contact was made which saw a couple of positions lost. We will keep you posted on Darren in the various EXM events.
Sunday's battle at Suzuka was a very nervous round for us. Out of the Fritosport team, E. FRITO Sanchinelli was the driver representing our guys. After a tough time in practice, we went through various setups in order to determine which direction to go with things. Thanks to our team mates advice, we focused on certain things. After some playing with the car, it came down to qualifying and last minute bump-up in tire pressures.
Higher pressures meant a more stable car in the high speed sections. While we decided to not take a pit-stop, it was a huge gamble. This time however it payed off! We sputtered to the line while saving fuel for about 3-5 laps at the end. In the last chicane before the last turn we ran out of fuel and the car was slowing/sputtering its last fumes. Luckily after being caught by a pack led by Andy Bonar the Start/Finish fell at just the right time and length on the straight to award us with P10. We scored points for our team in the THC! |
